Featured Replies

im thinking of remapping my 2.0l 2007 octavia but i would liek a recommendations to where to do it? im in milton Keynes, anyone know about any reliable garage in my area that could do it? also what BHP gain could i expect from it?

APR HQ is in Milton Keynes.

I am in mk and I used unit 18 they are a sponsor on here very good lads drop them an email or give them a ring

gains depend on whether you've got a diesel or petrol mate, which have you got?

Hi polfa,

I have had good experiences with Superchips, whose headquarters is in Buckingham, not far from you. However, when you say 2.0l, do you mean 2.0 petrol turbo (VRS)? 2.0 diesel turbo (140 or 170, PD or CR variants), or 2.0 FSI? If it's the latter, the cost of a remap is difficult to justify; the gains will be relatively small (fundamentally the elimination of artificial ignition timing and fueling map restrictions on the engine as a hedge against the use of poor quality fuel - you might get 5%-10%).

The real benefit is with turbo engines, petrol or diesel, where the boost pressure can also be adjusted within safe limits. The type of gearbox you have is also a consideration; all clutches have maximum torque ratings, but your tuning specialist should advise you on this point.

Have fun!

i have got 2.0l vrs (turbo petrol) 200bhp as standard from what i know. would this give me good results? i just want a bit better on acceleration as atm it just doesnt suit my driving style very well..

Hi polfa,

Considerable gains are available even with a Stage 1 remap (no other changes to vehicle). You should be looking at 240-250bhp and considerably more torque. If I ever decide to change my 1.8 TSI (207bhp) for a VRS I will certainly have it remapped.

40-50bhp more definitely sounds like something worth doing :) hmm
