Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

Hello, im new to the Fabia VRS and its my first Skoda, One question on my mind is, "do i need to leave the turbo and supercharger to cool before turning off the engine"? Hope you can help

Welcome to Briskoda :)

I'd have thought just a gentle drive for the last few minutes before you arrive at your destination would be sufficient. Others may disagree.

You'll get an answer quickly that will be better than mine. But I understand it cools itself via a fan after you leave/lock your car.

Just go easy the last minute or so of the journay

Nothing more is needed!

My missus has driven a twin charger for 3 years now and i know for a fact it will be booted from cold and switched off without a moment of thought and its still together

I tend to keep an eye on the oil temp, I try and make sure that I turn it off below 90 deg. I believe that the oil is circulated around the engine for minutes after the engine is switched off. You can hear it, it's a high pitched whine noise.
