or if someone else is using your phone in the car whilst driving to either play a game or send/recieve a message etc

not exactly true that' date=' in the van i have a cradle for the phone and its perfectly legal to operate the phone within reason whilst in the fixed cradle :)

also annoying when your parked th the engine running though[/quote']

how do you define 'within reason' though? Why do you need to operate the phone in the cradle. Can't you do that through your Nokia kit like with the Parrot CK3100?

:jab:

by within reason i meant they wouldn't like you playing snake or writing a text message but making calls is fine. i can do last number redial and voice tags aswell as obviously being able to accept incoming calls.

as far as i'm concerned i think its safer to initate a call through the actual phone rather than the parrot anyway in my opinion :)

Actually I just say the keyword to activate the voice tag recognition & then say the voice tag. No need to touch it at all :D

I dont use my head unit to power my front speakers and my rear speakers are disabled (cos I dont like backfill!). Has anyone installed this system when using a n external amp? For reference' date=' my head unit is an Alpine CDA-9853R and an alpine V12 5x75W amp.

This might make the difference between me buying the Parrot or not! or :thumbdwn:[/quote']

I had the same dilemma. You can use an external amp and then feed it back into the ISO wiring loom. My biggest concern was pumping 90W RMS into each front channel through the piddly little relay box used to switch between HU audio and Parrot audio.

I was toying with the idea of designing a seperate relay box to replace the Parrot one, but in the end, just installed my front speakers into fibreglass kickbuilds, keeping the OEM speakers in the doors. That way, I have two totally seperate paths. OEM speakers for Parrot audio only and music speakers for music only

I would be concerned though if you like your SQ with the lack of meatiness in the Parrot wires, hence my seperate approach.
