Sounds like your gearbox linkages need readjusting since all those gears are next to each other.

She took a small hit at the front bud

Can you select R,1,3,5 with the engine off? or do they not engage at all.

The linkages are very sensitive and even being just a small amount can stop the gears going in.

When you say hit, in which way. is it possible something has got wedged in the cable linkage thus blocking the lever.

She took a knock where the front strut bar did not touch the radiator or intercooler, she been lying up with insurance company for 3 months and was fine before it was returnd, it won't select the gears with engine off, I need to charge battery

Could a broken gear box mount cause this

I'd have thought a crash damaged one with a smashed gearbox mount would have damaged the gearbox.
