Hey folks,

 

Well, I've been lurking on here since the days of joint SCN/SCC and Briskoda southern meets on Portsdown Hill in Portsmouth, but I've now joined the Skoda community properly by purchasing a 2011 Skoda Octavia vRS TDI in Candy White.

 

The arrival of the above car saw me part-ex my SEAT Ibiza cupra (2004) which I'll miss greatly, but I now need a 5-door diesel and so the swap was inevitable.

 

My first impressions of the Octavia are good - spacious, refined and still has that little bit of poke when needed I am known to "tinker" and so it probably won't be long before I make a few changes, but for those who know me I won't be going to some of the extremes that I have done in the past.

 

Anyway - looking forward to many fault-free years of ownership! I'll pop up some photos as/when I've had a chance to properly clean the car, and if I do start to tinker then I may be asking a lot more questions on here

Hello Paul, I remember meeting you at one of the he portsdown hill meets donkeys years ago now it must have been, Although something in I the back of my mind tells me you had a seat Leon, maybe my memory is playing tricks on me now.

Spot on mate - I had a platinum grey Leon Cupra (modified) and then moved on to a twin turbo supra before coming back to an Ibiza which I've had since. VRS arrived just over 1.5weeks ago now, and so far very happy hope you are well mate?
