It does have limitations

I prefer to use my Rotary for initial polishing and use the DA to clean up and refine further afterwards

For light swirls, I find the DA is really good but it must be worked well to get the desired finish

Still pretty much defer to the DA for all jobs; but tend to have the rotary configured with the smaller 3 or 4" pad.

 

So any problem areas or more severe RDS marks etc - the rotary gets brought out.

Plus the rotary is good for the bumpers and wing mirrors
