Since I have moved onto 8.1 my Battery life seems to have suffered, could this be because of the update, I mean are extra things running so do I need to turn something off. It was a good battery and all of a sudden since 8.1 it is constantly wanting charge.

I had a work tab with 8.1 and the batttery life was pretty decent.

I've a tablet with 8.1 (Acer Iconia W3) and the battery life is fantastic, out performs my iPhone by far. Same can be said about the Suface 2 RC but that is understandable as its Microsoft anyway. 

 

Have you done a full battery calibration since 8.1? (The charge, decharge completely, recharge)

I am running a HP Probook 6460b that has Windows 7 on. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and yes I have noticed a slight decrease in life.
