Back Ache

Featured Replies

I bought a new Octavia 4x4 estate in December since January and a 1000miles I have suffered from increasing back ache. . My wife who does use the car as much is also beginning to get the same problem.  The previous Octavia 4x4 estate on a 61 plate did not seem to produce the same effect.  Is there a problem with the new Octavia seats that anybody is aware of.

Many Thanks.

John

Change to seat position.  I had similar problems in a company car (07 plate Ford Focus) and ended up with Physio.  They recommended changing the seat position, especially the lumber support if it has it.

As mk4gtiturbo says has a look at your seating position, personally I find having the seat slightly higher than I normally would have though makes a big difference.

I've done 5000 miles in my vrs since late dec and it's by far one of the most comfortable cars I've driven so hopefully a bit of playing about should sort it. I do thousands of miles a year in hire cars and the VAG cars are by far the best from the "normal" non "executive" cars seating wise. Vauxhalls Sri seats are aweful.

One or two of the members on this site are driving instructors and gave me excellent advise on how to setup the driving position on my fabia for swmbo how was struggling with the clutch. I'll try and dig them out when I get home.

Found the seats in our SE 4x4 better than the previous two Yeti's (SE and Elegance), however it took me a bit of trial and error to find that comfy position. Only thing I do find difficult to find is somewhere to rest the right foot in cruise.
