Brake problem - urgent please

Featured Replies

I need some quick advice,  When l brake, there is a rusty noise, which happens during the morning and it goes off a bit during the day, but comes back at night - but only when l brake.

My wife had similar trouble with a Skoda she had many years ago.

There are no lights on the dashboard

Its  skoda Fabia w reg,  1.4

Any help  and thanks

Jack each corner up and have an assistant depress the brake pedal while you spin the wheel to find the source then investigate from there.

Rust on the discs?

Warn out pads or shoes?

Edit #

Guessing you have drum brakes

Worn out shoes / rusted drums.

Whatever the scenario get it checked out. May be new drums and shoes time

IMO if you are asking then you need to get it looked by a garage.

If it's drums then something has detached itself in there, spring, pin or lining broken up.    If it's discs then a pad has broken or worn, disc could be unevenly worn or very rusty. As ruffday says you need a competent garage to look at it.
