Brake light failure / lights on warning sounder non-op

Featured Replies

Hi, I am looking for some advice on brake light failure, I had the Engine management light come last night when starting the car for the umpteenth small trip and although the engine was turning really fast it would not fire.

It did start after several attempts it did start.

Drove the 3 miles home without missing a beat.

This morning started first tme, 3 miles to mcdonalds, no issues & then it would not fire up again.

Checked forums for advice, found all 3 rear stop lights NON-OP but but night light on.

Replaced 10A fuse on brake light block (pos'n F13)

Still no stop lights & whilst in fuse box I have managed to dislodge the lights on alarm & doors open light.

Think I may have bitten off more than I can chew.

Please Advise

Brake light switch, top of pedal assembly.

Remove tray in drivers footwell. 2 torque screws.

I have taken the top off & removed the spring, does the cylider come away from the purple casing?

or just the 2 moving disks I can see?

Cheers

A new switch is only £12 from skoda main dealers and its a improved switch. Not worth ripping it apart for £12 imo

Hi Guys

I will have to order a replacement, although the spring system works when the barrel is behind the locating pins, once its in the car it is sticky.

The good thing is if it's connected up, but not in the assembly then the lights are back.

Thanks for your help
