I had this only once if I remember it was in winter, so put it down to being too cold. It does say in the online manual (page 68) that if the temp of the battery gets too high or too low it could affect the stop/start, or pulling up on a slope, or parking with the front wheels at a certain angle, any of these? There are loads of other instances that may affect it working and guessing it gives the warning beep to inform you it can't operate.

just gone out again and no beep and stop start working again ???

Probably one of the many criteria for stop/start to operate was not correct and the beep is a warning to say its not available.

There is a huge list of items that effect the operation of it.

Simplest is having the air con on.

There are threads on here re stop/start.

quite used to seeing the slash through the "A" symbol to show stop/start not working when you would expect it to, but this was something very different

the beep and "A" flashing where when I stopped at a roundabout (but clutch still down as waiting to enter roundabout) and then just down the road I had to stop at a set of lights, so took opportunity to stop the engine and restart it to reset the system and virtually as soon as I started the engine I got the beep and flashing symbol again,

had stop start on my GLII for 2 years and 6 months on citigo , never had this before so something new to me and nothing in manual to help

Did you ever find out what caused this? Had exactly the same on the way home tonight.

no, never recurred again

all I can assume was a battery issue or temp issue that ment no start / stop
