Eml light came on the other day, was after I had the engine bay steam cleaned, could this of caused it?

It seems to run fine apart from on idle seems to be slightly lumpy,

It's a vrs tfsi engine

Sounds like there is water in an electrical connection, try all the coil pack plugs but ideally get the car scanned to pinpoint where the issue is.

+1 if you steam clean  or power wash the engine bay you can bet on getting electrical problems.
