I perchance a gear knob from the new yeti on eBay. It's the same design as the o3.

I did not have to modify it. And the gaitor was real leather.

So it was a 2 min switchover.

I meant the Octavia 3 (new model)

The one i got from ebay was a 5-gear knob with gaiter from/to a yeti (new model).

Was surprised how easy it was to fit

Measured the depth of the old one, and drilled out the inside (12mm) to 5mm short of that depth ( I've found the height to be right for me ) the gator fits with a bit of pushing on the clips and attached with the new clip supplied.

Took about 10 mins to fit

Reason for me drilling 5mm short is I when I measured it was very close to the top and didn't want to damage the badge on the top.

Just bought one of this and will be fitting it this weekend. How easy is it to remove the old gearnob? There's a metal clip that seats at the bottom of the stick which looks a pain to remove.

Another satisfied vrs gearknob conversation. Thanks for the guide as it made it quite an easy thing to do.

Are there DSG ones? I quite like the new style DSG gear selector and I think some of the metal is coming away on mine - it's a bit sharp!

Hi I ordered that mk3 gear knob but they gave me one without the Vrs logo, they are saying the part number is the same as a standard tdi octavia, does anyone have the part number for the mk3 gear knob with the Vrs logo?

Sorry to drag up an old thread but how the hell do the knobs come off?!?
