Dragon tunning box arrived.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just taken delivery of my Dragon digital tuning box for my Fabia 1.9 TDI and I have a couple of questions.

1, How have people connected the red and black leads?, to the battery (as per instructions) or to one of the terminals under the cover on top of the battery?. If so which ones?.

2, The instructions show and Audi A3 in the pictures is the Fabia large connecting block in the same position?.

3, The instructions say the standard setting is 11 but on the unit mine says set to position 13 what have other Fabia owners got the setting at?.

4, The box says Fabia 1.9 TDI 130BHP I am assuming that is the final BHP as mine is the 100BHP and I thought the only 130BHP Fabia was the VRS?. Before Tunning box.

Just reading instructions at my desk before I try to fit it at the weekend.

don't know any answers, but I bet you have fun when it's on and working ;)

the tdpdi 130 fabia is the vrs.

and set it at about number 11-then you will feel its extra omph but you wont be forced back in your seat.

I think that its fairly much a generic for the PD engine ie: will be fine for the 100PD or 130PD.

I've had mine fitted for three months now. Its easy to fit as per instructions - make sure you check the polarity for the connections you make i.e. don

Thanks for the info,

Checked with MrHoot and it should be set at 13 so should be OK.

Only slight worry now is I can hear something rattling around in the tuning box. Sounds small and light so maybe one of the spare bits you put in the slots to adjust the settings.

But I can not figure out how to take the back off (Instructions say "remove back to change settings") to see what it is, looks like a sealed unit but I know it isn't.

May just fit it and hope it is nothing important loose in the box.

I would check it if you think there is something loose - you don't want a short cct or worse put 12volts up to your ecu.

mine smoke more now too - and yes i was dissapointed at first... the "kick" has gone, but the power increase is much better.... and it carries on powering! (dont have to change so much) - mine was set to 11 - but i bought it 2nd hand.

really easy to fit - if u need help - pm me and ill give u my mob number.

dont forget to remove the fuse if u are changing the settings.

Is no one running theirs at 16 or whatever the max is? I would

How do you get the back off to have a look inside?,

Do you removed the rubber bands that go around both ends first or just use a screw driver under one end?.

Do not want to damage it, or send it back but I do want to know what is loose inside.

..just pick off the two small circular caps at the opposite end from the cable input. You will need one of those star type drivers to take the screws out tho.

Makes it a bit of an animal to be honest ...all or nothing

And a pair of tweezers to change the little connectors over

16 is silly power! + - smokes a lot more!

lol silly power?? I would want max :D I might have to get my hands on one of these :)

Silly power? a remap is much more m'thinks...

Walkie, I run mine on the most powerful setting

It does not smoke excessively unless the ambient temperature is in the high 20s.

When I floor it in second it always brings a grin to my face :D:D .

When I removed it to get the car serviced it felt really flat without the added grin factor of Mr. Hoot.

So anyone thinking of getting one, I can thoroughly recommend them, lots of fun in a little box.

Thanks everyone.

Successfully took the end off last night and 2 of those little blue things fell out. Contrary to what MrHoot told me in a mail and what it says on the box itself mine was set to 11. I left it there for now. To change it looks easy now I can get in so I may play at a later date.

First get the garage who sold me the car to fix what ever sensor is playing around with the temp gauge and the start-up / tick over when warm.

Must say the speed of service from MrHoot is excellent.

Does anyone know what size torx is needed? I reckon it must be about a T10. I have a T6 which is too small and a T15 which is too big.
