Xenon headlight questions.

Featured Replies

1. If I remove a set of OEM Xenons and the bumper with the pop up washers is it plug and play on a non-Xenon Fabia?

2. If a seal has gone and one gets a little misting/condensation, can you get it fixed/fix it?

Many thanks,

Richard

I believe so yes - member on here got some genuine xenons and put them in his se.

You can try it out on mine :)

You'll need the 5 litre washer bottle from the car with xenons. Isn't the auto level sensor on the rear beam? You'll probably need that.

Finally you may need the headlight switch from the car with xenons.

or mine :D

Any bits I need can be swapped over between the two cars.

So it's possible then? :)

Yeah, isn't there a seperate outlet for the headlight washers on the 5l bottle, Charlie?

Never knew the level sensor was that far back but makes sense.

It's all possible. :)

I believe so. I'd imagine the headlight washer could be enabled with vcds

You can just swap the bumper and xenons without the washer bottle for the xenon 'look' but if wanting it legit you will need all the associated bits.

Lee, yes it is on rear beam.

Yes there is. Possibly a second pump too? Not entirely sure though

I believe Ross (tech1e) transferred the oem xenons onto his Fabia Vrs estate.

I can't find the project now though..

Do you want to get the full setup working, or just put the lights in?

The whole shebang.

Having bought a 5l wash bottle in the last year I can confirm there are two holes for pumps, one for windows, one for headlights.  Plus a hole for a low water level sensor.

If I remember right the ballast for the o/s headlight lives above the radiator.  Remember to acquire the cage it slides in to.

I don't think there are any differences between interior headlight switches?

The only difference between the standard head light switch and the switch unit for xenons is that there is no wheel for adjusting the level of the lights (obviously as they're self leveling) other than that it's the same unit :)

I retro fitted the washer set up into my fabia. The washers are an easy install as long as you have the loom which wasn't plug and play with what I had so had to wire it into the headlight loom to only work when lights were on. I'd assume the whole setup with looms etc would all plug in and work as I know they can be tested and set up/ enabled via vcds as they plug into the central convenience unit.

With my fabia all the fuse terminals were there so would be easy with all the connectors on the loom and the rear beam level sensor.
