Quick Advice

Featured Replies

Today i made an impulse buy which i hope will pan out to be the correct decision. Having had the Mk1 Octavia VRS which never missed a beat (traded for the fabia) i have traded my Fabia MK 2 VRS today for a 2012 Octavia with the diesel engine.

A couple of questions: Having had the Mk1 tuned by Revo previously i was wondering which companies are favored for the diesel.

The one thing i will miss with the octavia is the bluetooth hands free facility which i added to the fabia as it already had the MFSW.

The octavia doesn't, but does have a button on the headunit marked telephone. Can the bluetooth unit be added or does this require a different headunit. Any advice would be appreciated as im picking up next week.

Shark seem to be very popular for remaps. They have an STS unit so you don't even need to visit them or one if their approved garages.

BT can be added fairly easily. It involves a wiring loom behind the headunit, BT module under driver's seat and a microphone up the A-pillar to the front light.

A quick but of coding with VCDS and you are away.

Search this forum, you'll find lots of good advice.

Thanks. I am taking my module out of the 2011 Fabia vrs with microphone and wiring etc. Chances are this will be different for the Octavia. I will have to do some digging about. Thanks for the advice.

Does anyone have any module numbers they know work. Having goggled the head unit it appears to be the bolero.

DTUK too

The Digital Boxes are well developed for the CR diesel

Arnold I have two BT units for sale ones a HFP unit which works with 99% of mobiles the other is a premium RSAP unit which is more fussy. Which mobile do you have? Eddie-NL can supply you with the wiring for a great price

I have a bluetooth module and the lead and microphone but unsure if it will work. The bt unit is 5k0035730d. I currently have a Galaxy S4 and it works a treat just not sure if i need to get another BT unit and lead.

Should be plug and play but might need VCDS coding

Lovely thanks for that. Ive done a fair bit of searching and it would appear i might be lucky. Just to sort out the map now.

Another vote for Shark. They aren't too far away from you either.

They sorted my BT and the customer service was top class. Their maps get a very positive write-up on here!
