Featured Replies

like the site guys. hope you can answer me a quick qn i need to know... does the vrs octavia come with floor mats as standard? the info dosent seem to be in the brochure. many thanks:)

p.s. also how many people here fill their vrs with shell optimax etc rather than normal 95 octane petrol. is there a noticeable difference?:)

Welcome to Briskoda -- yes the vRS does come with floor mat's -- with a nice little vRS logo sewn in !

As for the fuel -- I alway's use SUL -- I have tried Optimax - but didn't find any great benefit in performance or running -- that said I have not tried it since my remap.

thanks skodaw!

The vrs mats are standard and lovely they are too. Skodaw how much does a spare set cost?

When mine arrived in the country the dealer tried to charge me for them at first.

When they see the spec of the Briskoda Octavia -- and realise how much profit they could make off selling them to sap's like us

Hi and Welcome Smerko!

Mats are standard.

Ah....the Optimax question.......lots of debate on this one.

I personally use it and find it to give a better and smoother response. In Basingstoke it is also the same price as SUL so there are no cost issues.

It is an unstable fuel in that it can go off; supposedly it's normal UL delivered to the garage and then an additive is....errr.....added. I've also experienced a couple of bad tankfuls.

Will have to try out some SUL from a "proper" petrol station as opposed to supermarket.

Just giving my experience of using it and would suggest, try it out and if you don't like it try some "quality" SUL instead.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Thanks all, had a good break, but it's back to reality now (boo!)

Seriously now: do you really believe that Skoda would ever approve your perfect spec on the Octavia? It would show the Audis up, and that'd never do!

I'll put your proposal forward to Technical and see what they make of it though... oh and we may have a SkodaUK Technical member joining us soon, as I directed him to this site for people who know their stuff- told him he could be very useful here... so if a very nice man named Mike comes on board, be very gentle with him (for the first day or so anyway) and play nice, won't you...?

Dammit, and a big HELLO to Smerko!

Slapped wrists for forgetting... well it *is* Monday morning...

Try a tankful of diesel or two if you want to hurry the process along ... (unless it's already a diesel, in which case try some unleaded) .... "I can't think what I was doing - must have grabbed the wrong pump nozzle ..."
