Anyone running a Galaxy Note 3?

Featured Replies

Considering buying one, just wondered if anyone here is using one? Experiences? Reliability? How good is the 4G?

I`ve had one for a few months now and I`m very happy with it. I suppose the only thing I can think of to complain about is that the screen icons haven`t changed in size to take advantage of the bigger screen.

Once you get used to the physical size of the phone it just seems to fall naturally to hand. I can just about use it one handed.

I`ve had no problems with it, I tend to load it up with apps, some gimmicky, some useful but it doesn`t seem to slow it down.

There`s quite a big thread about it on AvForums and it seems, for a lot of users the KitKat upgrade has caused a few problems.

The stylus and what it can do is handy but for me I tend to use it because its there and I feel I should be using it but I suppose it is a very handy thing.

Everything just works, I get a good strong wifi signal, bluetooth connects via RSAP to my Superb perfectly, I very rarely lose a data connection but that I suppose is down to EE.

All in all I`m very happy with it and as long as it doesn`t break I`ll be sticking with it for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the input. Does the EE handset have much in the way of their bloatware? Was thinking of buying handset separately to avoid that.

I bought mine secondhand from a seller on AvForums who originally bought it from Scan.co.uk so its untouched by EE though it does have a lot of Samsung bloatware which will be on every Note 3

I did previously buy my Galaxy S3 from EE and I don`t think that had any bloatware from them.

No, I got mine from EE through Phones4U and it doesn't have any branding on it at all. I'm pleased with mine but I did spend the first few days thinking it was too big. Now I look at my wife's iPhone 5 and think it looks like a toy!

Refreshing to hear. Missus got the HTC Desire through T Mobile and it would not allow you to set any homepage other than their launch page. This has put me off buying the handset from them. Have the EE handsets had the KitKat update?

Size is not an issue, already had a Dell Streak and Note 1. Will see what sort of deal the business services outfit will give me.

Yes, I've got KitKat on mine.

What version of the Desire, as never had this on any Tmobile kit

Just the ordinary Desire (the original one). Whenever you wanted to access the web, you where stuck with their T Mobile favourites page to start. There was some other branding on there, startup screen from memory.

My desire had BBC news as my home page and was Tmobile branded.

Had my Note 3 for 2 months. No major issues, other than the amount of bloat. It's now rooted and running Cyanogenmod 11 Snapshot-M5 (so still effectively in beta), but all the bloat is gone. :) :)
