vRS TDI fuel range

Featured Replies

I'm averaging 40-42mpg per tank full

All depends how I drive, best so far I got was 53mpg on a 30 mile ride..

If I drive like old person.. I might get a better mpg.... :giggle:

Watch it!  You properly think I'm old - 67.  Over 10K miles in a MkII FL vRS CR DSG I have averaged just under 44mpg.  Best on a 55 mile round trip in 40,50 & 60 limits, when I had plenty of time and so in no rush. was 58 (showed over 60 for a few miles).

I have managed an average of 46mpg in my manual hatch and I have a CRD-T fitted (tuning box) my MkII averaged 40mpg, still less than 2000 miles on the new one, so hopefully that gap will widen as the engine loosens up a little bit.

These are actual figures using fuelly.com and not the cars trip computer, which is reading 51mpg

Bloody hell that well out, mines around +/- 0.5mpg accurate compared to fuelly.

My last fill up was 48.7mpg and the maxidot said 49.0mpg for that tank but sometimes it can be the other way round....

He is using a tuning box though which I think throws out the MPG calculations as it will be injecting more fuel than it thinks sometimes so will report better MPG than actual.

First fill up was 42L, 358 miles and 38.9 mpg

Second was 44L, 382 miles and 39.6 mpg

Last fill up was 40L, 400 miles and 45.1 mpg

Looks like it is slowly improving.

My last car Passat 2.0 TDI (140) averaged 46 mpg over 50k miles, which was book figure.  I'm hoping this one will equal the book figure!  Oh and it would do over 700 miles on a tank

The tuning box 'upsets' the system slightly.

Best of exactly 550 miles for my vRS, manual hatch, done nearly 11k miles now since I got it Nov 5th. Long term mpg now 49.7

I'm not keen in fuelly so use road trip lite. Over the last 4000 miles according to road trip my vrs estate manual has averaged 52.56mpg with best tank at 56.60mpg. This has included travelling in and through London at rush hour as well as some longer runs. Total mileage on the car is around 8600.

Always at least 500 miles to a tank. Last tank had only just had the fuel light come on (so still 50/60 miles left in the tank according to the trip) and I had done 540 miles

I get around 460 miles to a tank and that's combining a drive from Exeter to London then driving around London with the remainder of fuel as I work in London and use the car. I only use v power diesel and it's about 60£ per tank. I love the car but the small fuel tank is IMO an annoying feature. I think being a DSG doesn't help either and a part of me does wish I opted for the petrol. Other than that.... Good car.
