Black FL Octavia Neptune Refurb

Featured Replies

I have a black FL Octavia with standard 18in Neptunes that need a refurb.

Lap Tab in Brum will do them standard silver same day for £250 all in.

I have can't decide whether to go standard silver or consider other options such as anthracite or black.

I know it's personal choice but am looking for opinions on what would look good on a black totally unmodified and standard facelift Octy?

Have a look on Detailing world or Facebook for Midlands Car Care. They do them for £200 on a same day basis and the photos of their work looks amazing.

i'd go black or anthracite.  or orange.  anything other than silver please!?

Black :)

Bear in mind (if you haven't already) that you'll need to tell your insurance company for a colour change.

It's a question I'm pondering myself at the moment - would black make it too black?  A bit of contrast is nice.  Lots of photos on this site to give an idea of what other people have tried.

I think black rims make the wheels look smaller than they actually are just an observation

There's a similar thread on here with pictures from not too long. Can't remember who it was but he went for anthracite and it looked really good.

General consensus appears to be anthracite or black. Probably edging towards anthracite at the moment. Thanks for your opinions and advice.

3 months on and I still haven't decided what to do which has surprised me as I am not normally indecisive.

The wheel a specialists in Birmingham have quoted £288 all in for same day return and finished in smoked chrome.

Anyone have experience with the wheel specialist in Birmingham? Is £288 a good price? Is there anyone here with a black vrs with smoked chrome alloys??

£288 is a very good price - I have just had a quote from their online calculator for the fareham branch and they want £393 for the same day service on 18" wheels for my VRS

Goole search 'Black Octavia Blackline' for loads of pictures of black vRS's with black Neptunes...

I really like the look of the black neptunes but am slightly swaying towards smoked chrome / anthracite / gunmetal grey for a slight contrast.

Should make my mind up sometime before Christmas!

After joking about been indecisive, I bought a set of gunmetal grey Neptunes from a fellow briskodian on Friday afternoon, had them delivered via the Greenline yesterday and had them fitted this morning.

I am very happy with the end result, special thanks to smash for selling me a mint set of wheels and bian for picking them up in Wakefield and dropping them off in Birmingham after the national meet yesterday via Greenline.

You certainly didn't hang about getting them fitted it looks much better now. You just have to decide what to do with the neptunes in need of a refurb now!.

Haha, was at my local tyre fitters at 9am.

My old Neptunes need a refurb but I am going to try and sell them as they are first. Can't really afford to keep them as winters. If I get no luck selling them as is, I may refurb them and then try to resell them!

looks great in anthracite.

Look great. Obviously I'm biased......lol
