Poor Aftersales Service

Featured Replies

I picked up my Mk3 vRS in November and had my first service 4 weeks ago today. When I picked the car up I was told they were going to change the 'mode' button but didn't have one in stock. I also asked when I booked the service could I have a touchup pen for the stone chips.

After the service I was told that they had the wrong colour touchup pen but would ring me in a couple of days when the switch and pen came in.

A month later I'm still waiting for the call (I don't see why I should chase them).

Having bought a car which is in excess of £27,000 you would have thought the customer service would be slightly better. I should mention they wanted to charge me £15.00 for a courtesy car while mine was being serviced.

What are your experiences of customer care?

Forgot to say its Sinclair Skoda in Swansea.

What's up with your mode button?

You should be able to order a touch up pen from the spares dept, shouldn't take anymore than 2 days.

I'm sorry to say, that chasing them is the only way these days Thomas

Contacting the Dealer Principle always works as well

£15 will be for the insurance.

Pen from parts counter.

They should've called you back, it's not the end of the world.

In Eco mode the car has lost power and I have to stop, switch off and restart the car. It doesn't happen in normal or sport.

This has happened to others on the forum, I don't think the dealer wanted to believe me, it was only when I said that others had the same problem (I had my iPad in hand to show him the forum) that he seemed to reluctantly show some interest.

It wasn't that they couldn't get a touchup pen, it was that they haven't bothered to do what they said they would and contact me.

Hmmmm that's doesn't seen any reason to replace a button, it's just a piece of plastic.....

Are you talking about the problems people are having with Eco mode and the DSG gearbox? If so that's some sort of software issue and there is no fix for it yet....

I completely agree with you,

Dealers don't stock parts anymore, it's 'we'll order it for you' which is fine. Don't tell people who've spent thousands of pounds that you'll do something when you've got no intention of doing it.

My dealer does...but only for the most common items

Most ordered parts are there within 24 to 48 hours if they haven't got them..so hardly a problem

What a coincidence. Skoda Sinclair Swansea phoned me at 10am this morning to say the part has just come in. Obviously the dealers are keeping a close eye on the forum.

Dealers can get parts in two days. It is also possible to order parts for next day if it is urgent. Some of the touch up pens were hard to get but I would expect you to get a call if this was the case.

its a shame you had a bad experience.

I am usually the first person to complain about things, but I make sure I always keep them on side.

the other week I had trouble with my satnav, and as the dealer could not look at it before my service (a few days later) I asked them if they could order in a GPS receiver just in case. They did! however it wasn't needed!!!

I bet if you went back to the sales floor and told them you were thinking about ordering another car, the touch up paint would be there in two days, and would probably be free!!!!!!
