I've got a fault with one of my rear seats in my 2011 vRS and my dealer said it's damage and not warranty repair (back has given away and now flexes when sitting in it)

Are the rear uprights the same in both pre and fl octavias? I need to see if a scrappy has one as dealer wants just shy of £400 for a new one. Figure I can get it cheaper that way - may be able to transfer the outer cover if theirs is in a worse condition.

Oh, and perhaps all octavia seats are the same, but the vRS just has different covers/trim?

Pre-FL and FL RS MK2 are the same, different is only logo (VRS) stiched in middle...in combination leather-cloth.

Trims as well the same.

Etc. You can swap out leather and easily replace it.

Thx - so it doesn't have to be a vRS that I get a seat from then, as I can fit my vRS trim (it seems to unzip?)

Actually checking my car tonight after picking up from dealer - the zips are only on the lower part of the seat and not upper. Must be a way to take it off, but I don't know how. Wonder if the haynes manual I have covers this...

The zips are just covering the isofix bars.

Am thinking that perhaps the Golf mk6 rear seats may be identical (bar trim) to the Octavia as well?

Have emailed Skoda CS to see if they can do anything about this, as I think it's very odd for a seat to fail like this - no visible signs of abuse or damage, but internally dented/broken. If the cover is easy to remove then transferring it to another seat would be a much cheaper solution.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the trim over on a rear seat backrest? I can get hold of one with standard fabric but would obviously want to transfer over my vRS trim so that it matches.

Anyone? May have to drop this idea until I find a FL vRS being broken and get the seat from that instead.
