Diesel Particle Filter Warning Light after 5k miles on VRS Tdi Estate

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This morning on the way to work, the maxidot pings and says Diesel Particle Filter with caution sign.

On the infotainment it shows the error message also.

Will a quick blast up the motorway in sports mode help????? Or a call to the stealers service dept beckon?

Regards

Brian

Take it for a good run with the revs at 2k or higher, maybe in 5th gear, on a motorway or dual carriageway for 15 to 20 minutes and that should clear it.  Sports mode won't make any difference as it doesn't actually have anything to do with the engine, it's just a gimmick.

If its dsg then it would be worth using sport as it holds the revs higher for each gear.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies.

The car is a manual.

Lunchtime I took the car out for a blast up the M1 from 5-6 and back, this touch wood seems to have helped.

So has the warning light has gone out now? Out of interest, how long did it take?
