Curiosity question

Featured Replies

Hey guys. More of a curiostity question than an issue.

On the dash towards the windscreen with a grill? Speaker/vent I don't know then on top of that is a shiny black plastic box. Anyone know what this is or what it's for?

Sun sensor - it is used by the climate control as an input so that it knows how much sun is hitting the inside of the car, so that it can compensate.

I believe you are referring to the sunlight detector which forms part of the ventilation system and helps keep the cabin temperature stable under differing sunlight conditions eg cools vent air instead of blowing warm air when in strong sunlight to avoid uncomfortably warm cabin and manual heater adjustment.

Oh right, cheers guys. Thought that that was all built in to the sensor in the screen begin great view mirror but now guess that only for auto wipers.
