Any suggestions for a guide price?

Featured Replies

My dad's generaly got a perchant for crap cars. He particularly likes Rovers, Peugeots and his present Fiat. Then yesterday he said something that shocked is all and said he was thinking about a skoda (my theory is no one's told him they're good now).

His elderly neighbour is planning on giving up driving, and mentioned selling dad his fabia. He doesn't know what its worth. Dad doesn't know what its worth. So could anyone give them a rough starting number?

It's a late mk1, probably a hatch, maybe an estate, definitely not a saloon.

Engine is thought to be a 1.4 Tdi.

Milage on a guess will be 60k to 80k.

Full skoda service history, tax and test will be just out.

What Car/Parkers are probably your best bet, however before your dad jumps in please do read up on the 1.4tdi, it's a 3 cylinder diesel, it's not anywhere near as reliable as for example the 1.9PD lump and that's due to VW thinking they could design a way round physics.

Yeah with you on that. I know a few folks who have them in polos. Rough sounding things but alright if looked after.

Have a read of this, nothing jumps out as being incorrect and judging by the number of 1.4's i've seen cheap in need of an engine over the years i'd suggest it's not a million miles off.
