Octy III Elegance delivered today

Featured Replies

As this is a company fleet car it was delivered to my drive.

I was asked to sign here.

I could only tick 30% of the boxes as most controls/features weren't/couldn't be explained. The fleet rep admitted to never having done a handover - luckly the co-driver knew a lot more and advised well.

As a Freedom Briskodian and this is my second Octy I know what to look for.

There was no SD card in the sat nav.

No rubber mats provided but these were on original order.

Car was clean and no interior or exterior faults found - yet

Upon connecting my CTEK charger the battery hadn't been charged and was low.

All tyre pressures were incorrect - I adjusted these myself.

So to name and shame the car was provided by DM Keith Leeds.

Minor issues but my sig line remains...

Onwards and upwards?

skodanorma thats almost my line - Onward and forwards is what I say.

I have emailed the Director of DMK a link to this post.

Deary me. Hope it gets better from here on in!

Very disappointing, the dealer should be ashamed. On a more positive note WF I would be interested in the spec and reason for choosing the Elegance. Ta.

Weekend email response from the Director delegating to a manager to contact me direct to resolve these issues so that's a positive.

Upon further testing the tracking is off (tracks to the left) and the steering wheel isn't on straight :( .

The direction indicator on the maxidot is stuck at North but I assume that the missing Nav SD card is causing this.

Falkster - My last Octy was Elegance. Cruise was a must for me. I could have had an SE + cruise but haggled hard for the Elegance for the same money as my budget didn't stetch to a vrs but I'm not sure I would have liked the hard ride given my commute.

DMK did do a good deal when pushed and after the next 4 years servicing so I'm sure they will get their profit.

Overall I'm very happy with the car apart from the hassle in cottecting what should have been fixed. I was a little concerned going from a 2.0 to a 1.6 but the newer engines and the lighter car make up for the difference.

Interesting WF. I started a thread Elegance v vRS as I am not sure that my company car budget will stretch to a vRS by the time I need to order. However I don't know whether I will regret going from a Mk2 FL vRS to a 2.0 or 1.6 Elegance. I would be interested to know your view on the 1.6 engine. Sorry to highjack the thread as this is not the point of your post. Cheers.
