Fault code P0601...

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

My EML light isn't on, but I thought i'd check the car for any faults on my Torque Pro app. No faults, apart from one "pending" fault...

Does this mean i have a duffed ECU? Or can i get it checked by the Mapping company?

Cheers :)

Ooh, ECU check sum errors aren't good. Is the car mapped?

Yeah, it's been mapped a stage 1 by the only mapping company from where i'm from, they're called Linkmap, not big timers, but the car was mapped before i bought the car over a year ago. Some people have said they're not very reliable... which is why i'm thinking of getting it remapped by R-tech when i go away in june?

Or should i get the current mappers to check it out?

Also, any idea what this fault does to the car??

Cheers :)

Suppose if its not broke why fix it?

Yeah i suppose...best get it checked out though before ot does turn the light on...

I cleared it at the time, but as soon as i scanned again, it was back as a pending fault again?

Like i said, it's not throwing the light on, and i might just be worrying too much!

I have the same error, I erase it with my Scangauge and it re-appeares every 100-200 km. It is caused by the ABT stage 1 mapping. No big deal, the car runs fine. So I supppose your fault is caused by your car's mapping. No need to worry, just have to erase it every time.

Aw well i suppose it's not affecting the car so far, but it does reappear when i clear it and scan again instantly.

I only read about it the other night, and when i saw problem with ECU, i panicked!!!

Try a search (P0601 or 16985) there is a couple of topics covering this from the few of us who have had the same code, does not affect the way the car runs, just end up with the EML staring at you, usually a mapping fault APR and Revo are known culprits updates are available.

I've had a look at some of the threads on them, seem to be the same thing said by everyone, all down to the map i suppose!
