scout on ebay with dpf delete will i get problems

Featured Replies

Theres a scout on  ebay near me for £4,500 with dpf delete will I get problems come mot time ? it has a remap as well so I think it has been mapped out as well to remove the light on the dash, should I stay well away he seems to be struggling to sell it as its been on ebay for a while any help most welcome.

There is now a visual check for a DPF on cars. If it has been removed completely then yes you may have problems. If it has been removed but the outer casing welded back on then it's fine.

You may be able to get an old DPF housing welded round it to make it look like it still has one.

Ok thanks so its a visual as well as smoke test I will have a look underneath to see if there is a dpf box in the system when I go and look at the car.

it appears most haven't had problems thus far with DPF deletes and remaps on Scouts or 4x4's from what I understand...   depite the changes to the MOT.   But I guess a lot will depend on the quality of the work and the map.

It looks a lot of car for the money, tidy car too,id get a hpi check done on it before any money changes hands (if its a insurance write off that may explain the cheap price),as for why it hasnt sold for 6 months is a bit of worry for me. Id check for a recent clutch replacement as been mapped & at 140k if the clutch is the original it could be on its way out.
