1.8 20vt into a mk1 fabia

Featured Replies

just wondering if this has or could be done, using the 02m 6 speed box, base model sdi looks with 300+hp would be fun lol,

Yeah it's all been done before, the 02m 6 speed would be a poor choice though. Better off getting the donor engine and gearbox from the same vehicle.

The 1.9TDi fits in the Furbie, so there's clearly enough space for a 1.8T with the stock 5-speed.

I'd suggest trying to acquire a "cassette car" to make sure you've got engine, ancilliaries, all wiring looms, a drive by wire throttle setup (look, the pedal costs about £120 including Clueless George's cut if you buy it separately)...

Always wanted a 1.8t fabia vrs.

i have a complete leon cupra in the garage :giggle:  thats the reason for the 6 speed. and id also like to use the brake setup and shafts

Didn't Seat use the 1.8t in the Ibiza Cupra

Yes, it was in the Ibiza FR too.

That was my choice as it's already in a Fabia sized platform with the correct track width for the suspension, drive shafts etc...

Yes common sense says buy the ibiza cupra.

Looks better and is already done

Yes, or at least buy the Ibiza as a donor car for the project.

In that case, as long as the 6-speed box isn't much longer than the 5 from engine flange to tail mount, I can't see any particular reason why not. You've literally got all the bits.
