Stage 2+ Clutch?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm booked in to go stage 2+ on my vRS TFSI next month. The car is on standard and what I think to be original clutch at 111,000 miles.

Seems strong; no slip and biting point seems okay.

My question is: How will a standard clutch cope with stage 2+? Will it be knackered on the first WOT pull or should it be okay; providing I don't do racing starts (which I don't anyway), or floor it from 1000 rpm in 6th gear.

Thanks for any help,

Stu

My 'almost new' clutch on mine began to slip in 4th-6th immediately after going to stage 2. It's a Tsi so will have a little more power/torque than a stage 2 Tfsi.

It was the torque low down the rev range that it couldn't cope with.

I've just had mine done last weekend a Loba-Sachs uprated and it's spot on. Heavier on the pedal and chatters a little on idle (Smf) but would highly recommend it. I was only stage 1 and the original was slipping slightly, bolted full exhaust and intake on and it got worse. You will need one fairly quickly after going 2+ as you will be giving it a good old boot now and then. It's expensive but it is needed. It may last a bit but you will need it !

Cheers guys, I'm currently stage 1 so already running more than standard. I've got a quote for a new clutch and DMF fitted. I'll probably just keep it on the standard clutch and replace it when the slipping begins.
