Hi ive just bought a skoda factory cd player to replace my cassette player and it hasnt got a code for my 2003 fabia. How can i obtain a code for it ? Do i have to go to dealer and if so how much will it cost ?  

The code is linked to the stereo not the car.

The code is normally supplied on a dongle thing and/or sticker in the original cars service manual.

 

Obviously if you've bought one second hand you won't have access to that so i think a trip to the dealers is the only option.

I think they can either rest it and give you a new code or access a mega data base to find the existing code for the stereo.

 

if i remember correctly it was about £80 last time i saw it being discussed
