MFD install - working but not 100%?

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

A very good friend of mine has taken on a new car recently and decided that I should be the receiver of his Seat MFD1 unit. I've installed it all without a hitch, with a brand new GPS unit and the trim piece for the top of the unit. All gone in perfectly.

My issues is, however, that the satnav isn't working correctly. It is locating me fine whenever I then the key, and will plan a proper route if I enter a destination, however the arrow that moves as you drive is painfully slow - as in it shows the correct location once every mile or so! I am also not getting any voice guidance apart from when I first set off after inputting a destination.

Here's the confusing part.

After having done a lot of research about this, I have come to the conclusion that this may be an error with the Gala Pulse on the MFD. HOWEVER if I have a CD on, or the AUX running whilst the navigation is creeping along, the MFD is adjusting the volume almost instantly according to my road speed! Which would speak to me that the MFD is I fact receiving a Gala Pulse?!

I'm confused and need some guidance please!

Thanks!

Did you use the plug and play wiring loom?

I used the standard wiring that was in my car, the only additional wiring I've used is the extra for the AUX in and the GPS antenna.

As hutchy says, plug and play loom (£10 maybe?) and it'll be sorted

Could anyone possibly drop me a link please? And what will this loom do? Thanks guys :)
