paying for an app concerns

Featured Replies

There are a few apps on android i wouldnt mind buying but im nervous about how secure it is on my phone when it asks for debit card details. Is there not a way to just fill in your details once securly then just put in a pass word to purchase? Bit like ebay?

I've bought a couple including £25 co-pilot say-nav - Had no issues.  Should be as secure as using the internet.

Its safe. uses Google wallet so onece setup it works like iTunes for future purchases.

Yep, exactly that.

Or you have an option to bill to your mobile number instead at checkout.

I've bought apps that way before

So add credit/debit card then?

Go to asda's etc and buy a top up card.

My dad has bought loads of apps through the play store with no problems, including that one as it happens.

The gift card looks the safest idea. Think ill actually get one of them

Which apps are you after?

Most Android apps can be had for free if you use Google.

We do not allow discussion on how to obtain paid for software illegally on Briskoda, posting any links will be removed or ultimately the whole thread locked or deleted.

Point taken.

But in no way is it illegal to use Google.

Just saying.

Google play store you mean dont ya? The free version is not as good. Its flightradar24 pro.

I don't trust tablet or phone operating systems either.

So if you want to buy something without using your cards get a voucher from Tesco. They sell £10 and £25 Google Play vouchers.

I very much agree with the recommendations above to use a prepay card, it's a minor inconvenience but well worth the security as it means if my account is compromised or funds are lost, it's a few quid gone at worst whereas with the credit card it could be a lot more.  While credit cards do give you very good protection against fraud it can still be a lot of hassle to get it sorted out so I stick with prepay cards for most services such as all the console services as well.
