Featured Replies

Are there cheap and nasty instruments on the market that doesn't do the job of reading and deleting EML codes that one does need to perhaps avoid buying. Would anyone recommend a particular one without spending more than necessary.

Many Thanks

If I were to re-write your post it would look something like below (based on what I now know is you asking what ELM scanner to buy for reading and clearing fault codes)

Highlighted in red are a few issues

Are there ANY cheap and nasty instruments on the market that DOES (doesn't do) the job of reading and deleting EML codes?  that one does (why is this here?) needs to perhaps avoid buying. Would anyone recommend a particular one without spending more than necessary.

I`m certainly no literacy expert but if you were only asking what ELM scanner to get why not just say that?

IE,

Can anyone out there tell me what's the best ELM scanner to get for reading and clearing fault codes? cheaper the better... Thanks.

I also wanted to know if its at all possible to buy this instrument too cheap, similar to the link that's been put up, but where it doesn't do the job.

As I have been told that this is possibly why my  same code returns a few days later, despite the work having been completed.

Codes usually return because a fault is still present...you can remove a code with any software, but if a fault remains it will come back...

Check the VCDS map, there may be another member near you that could help you with "professional equipment" :)
