Buying a vRS

Featured Replies

I'm looking to buy an Octavia vRS in the next 4 weeks and i'mlooking at some info on what to look out for. I'm looking to spend arround 8k as the car will be our second car. theres a few going now with 90k on the clock but the mileage on them is a bit too high :) I'm looking to get a sub 50k in yellow or black. I'v heard about the coil pack problem but is there anything else to look out for? and how many miles can the trusted 1.8T do before any real problems start to appear. thanks in advance for any help or info offered

Well they appear to be pretty reliable on the whole. As you say coil packs can be a problem, but most should be sorted now. MAF's can also be a problem. I wouldn't worry too much about reliability as these engines are pretty much tried and tested. You could always buy my Yellow one with 22K miles on ;)

Only problem I've had with mine in 2 years is a noisy cold start problem, cured by replacement secondary air filter under warranty. No other problems at all. (Touch wood) It's a great car but don't pay too much for a second hand one - I was only offered

Wonder who sorted that out Derek? ;)

Yeah, I wonder. No more kit kats for you now eh? You're dieting.

Indeed :)

I am considerering selling my 2004 (o4 plate) Octavia VRS in Black with Cruise Control, I have had it from new. I would need
