Some more suspension questions....

Featured Replies

Hi All

Someone put links up for genuine top mounts and bearings and drop limks. They were quite expensive but slightly cheaper than the dealer prices.

Someone mentioned SKF top mount and bearing kits - are they any good or is there another good quality kit out there at a reasoable price?

Is there a good quality 3rd party drop link out there at a reasonable price?

Also a safety question - if I am changing the top mounts, drop links, struts and springs, are there any nuts or bolts that must be replaced instead of reusing the originals?

Euro car parts, find your local and pop in job done.

no new bolts, although depending on condition your strut bolt my need replacing, everything else I reused and locktited.

Vw recommend all stretch bolts to replaced so its up to you if want follow this but if you are using the driveshaft method i would replace the hub bolt as a must.

I did not touch the driveshaft so the only bolts i replaced were the front pinch bolts and the rear top mount bolts as they were quite rusty.
