Hi all....after 30 ish miles...in slow traffic, gearbox becomes really notchy and not smooth. Car has FSH and currently at 54k miles...any ideas??....much appreciated

I don't think your car has a DSG gearbox. I think yours is the tiptronic auto box.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure it's not a DSG box. It sounds like it's overheating, are you having trouble with your engine oerheating??   Is your cooling fan kicking in ??

Yes, It'll be the standard torque converter auto. First thing to check is the fluid level.....if this is ok then a VCDS scan may be in order.
