I'm getting ready to service my 1.6crtdi engined golf and I may have hit a snag ? , I'm going to change the oil and filters fuel included, however in some of the YouTube links to do this I need vcds after fitting a new fuel filter to activate the pumps in both tank and engine ? This is required only on the crtdi engine as I've done the tdi /pd engine anyone done their own and how did you get on ?

No idea mate, this seems a strange one to me ?? 

Aye never did this on a pd engine only other option apparently is to remove the rear seats and "jump" the pump ? And then open some priming nuts by the fuel filter housing ? What a friggin cuffuffel !

Pour diesel from a jerry can into the fuel filter housing, then you'll have minimal air.

Don't need to do special tricks on other cr cars, but have a batter for the fuel pump just in case?
