Need new tires for my Greenline, i need something fancy=)

Featured Replies

Hi

I just changed from winter to summer tires, and boy was those wintertires in bad shape. Nowhere did any of em have more than 1mm of treaddepth and some had lost all signs of treads on the innerside.

Yeah i tend to drive agressive and the tires didnt have a speed index anywhere near the speeds i have had on the car.

So i figured its time for an uphrade on the wheel side. Im looking for new sets of rims and tires for both summer and winter.

And i have a deep love for OZ Racing, so guess i would like the rims to be from them.

The combos i been looking at;

Summer:

OZ Racing Alleggerita HLT 17" + Michelin Primacy 3.   This wil result in a 205/45R17. I see Skoda lists 205/40R17 as max on Fabia II's.  If its to big i would have to go back down to 16" rim or use another tire.  Whats peoples opinion on rimsizes for the Fabia II ?

Winter:

OZ Racing Superturismo LM + Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8.   Not sure on dimensions, but want it to look good as well as work good.

I will use some time to see if i find some of these rims used as i have a set of new cheapo summertires i use now.

So my main questions. What are good sizes for both summer and winter tires? Thinking about rimsize and tirewith. And how low profile can i have on the summer tires before i sacrifice comfort and performance? This is a form follows function priority. Function first!

Also other recomendations are welcome=)

Best regards

Truls

Anyone have some pictures of a Fabia II with 205/45R17 and 205/40R17 ?

Just so i can see what it looks like before i commit to a buy.

Different manufacturers are slightly different sizes.

George will be able to tell you more :).

I am pretty sure what ever brand of tyre you go for you do not want to go to 205/45 R 17

maybe consider 215/40 R17

I am away to put on 16's for the Summer, i have wrecked too many 205/40 R 17 and 215/40 R17

on Bad roads recently.

Going for 215/45 R 16's

& the car is suffering from the harsh ride, getting to have creaks and groans,

wear and tear on the components from being on the low profiles.
