Feel so disappointed In my vrs....

When I started this thread I wasn't slating the vrs or putting it down.... I had just hyped myself up ready to get back in one to find it a little bit of a let down.

But as I found out an old fuel filter, boost leak, hole in the intercooler and four sticking brakes it didn't have much of a chance of giving me a good first impression!

Well today is the first day I've had a chance to spend some time with the car! Put it up on the ramp and stripped all four brakes. Both rear brakes were sticking on, the handbrake leavers were both f

  • Yes there is, it's always looking filthy and drives it's owner mad :(

  • I like my new one more - it's got leather and it's blue. I dislike my ride height currently...

The obvious cure for this is to drive an MPI around for a few days. You'll think you're in heaven when you get back in a vRS.

Mines going really well. That said it's having new suspension on Saturday!

I think I've just got used to the fact that something always needs doing to it!

It's a 10 year or so old hot hatch what do you expect from it these days. Still a good car but lots better on the road these days.

I had a whizz in a boggo 1.6 mini cooper a while back.

No turbo or supercharger. It wasn't a powerful car but once

you got going you didn't have to slow down for much.

Superb handling, I can only imagine what a JCW one drives

like, I bet they are brill. I did have one on my shortlist when I bought

the Audi, but didn't go through with it as I didn't like them inside and thought

Minis were a bit common on the road and overpriced for what they are.

If they didn't have such OTT cutesy and deliberately 'funky' interiors then

I'd have one. I just can't take them seriously when I sit inside one.

They should do an old fart edition with sensible normal instruments

and seats. Then I'd buy one. As they stand they are either a kids

or womans car IMO definitely not marketed at men. Shame because

on the outside I like them and they drive better than most VAG offerings.

warm hatch. given the appropriate TLC, good hot hatches remain good regardless of age
