Drive shafts

Featured Replies

I suspect my passenger driveshaft is on its way out, so I have a few questions.

1. Is it worth replacing both at the same time?

2. Where's the best place to get them that isn't extortionate? Skoda parts doesn't have anything listed and eurocarparts want over £200!

3. Is there a performance/ upgraded oil/ fluid to replace the standard gearbox oil?

Thanks

Charlie

Just replace one of them

Or replace the cv joints

If you go for an aftermarket driveshaft avoid jr driveshafts. I had no end of issues with them. 4 driveshafts and none were right

1) - No - passenger one being shorter seems to get more "action" / break first

2) - Probably breakers yards from a low mileage car (ensure no wheel/hub impact on wreck though)

3) - Not to my knowledge.  I still use stock 75w90 in my gearbox which has slippy diff in etc.
