steel tdi sumps?

Featured Replies

Ok guys is anyone running one of the shallow steel bottom sumps on a tdi?

I have limited clearance with my sumpguard and think if I have a hard landing it will still flex up and smash the sump, darkside do them I believe and I was just scanning the net to find part no's to try tps tomorrow.

soo they any good, is the steel decently thick? etc

Some one on here does yeah, can't remember who atm! :)

Pretty sure they are fitted to Beetles as standard.

Seem to remember they were much cheaper from the USA than here ;)

I've got a steel/alloy sump on my ibiza.

Bought through work though, so was around the £100 mark with the shorter pickup.

Seems a decent enough piece of kit.

The steel is fairly thick, but anything has to be better at absorbing a knock than the original alloy sump.!

I run one as well mate the steel at the bottom is loads better as I put I big dent in mine then when I did a oil change I just drop the bottom off and hit the dent out [emoji3] I paid £150 from psi tuning

I had one on my old leon. Great bit of kit. You will loose your oil level sensor if your car has one
