Easy Peasy Grille removal......

Featured Replies

No pics.....none needed. :)

Found it easier to remove the grille whilst doing the new badges. One if the biggest PITA's is getting the grille off easily without breaking the plastic clips.

So......

Open the bonnet.

Undo the T25 torx screw behind the badge.

Take a 6mm socket (just the socket, don't put it into a driver at all) and push it over a clip, all the way until you hear a click. The grille should pop outwards a little too.

Repeat on all spring clips.

The hardest clip is the one behind the latch mechanism, although a 6mm ring-spanner should fit. :)

7mm is not small enough to compress the clip sufficiently.

5mm doesn't have enough room to accommodate the clip.

Nice a job to do myself at the weekend

Cheers

Good advice! Wish I had seen this earlier; I did a similar method using the base of a biro!
