rear lights 52 plate skoda

Hello

I have a 52 plate skoda and i have got a fault on dash coil light flashing plugged in my u281 obd2 reader and it 16955 and that says fault with my brake switch, took off brake switch and my brake lights dont work at all also the high level brake light is lit all the time but just at either end like a bad earth, can anyone advise ne if i change the switch it will be ok x
