new skoda fabia

Featured Replies

has anybody seen any photos of the new fabia yet should be out this year

There's no official pictures out yet but plenty of mock ups and Auto Express 'artists impressions'.

There's some old posts on here with some of the pictures in but you'd have to search.

Just Google MK3 Fabia images and you'll see them, they look like a slighter shorter, more squat Rapid Spaceback.

my predictions on engines:

1.2 tsi 90ps

1.2tsi 110ps

1.6tdi various outputs

the newer 1.4 with 150bhp would be nice (currently available on polo and in 140ps in the octavia)

possibly 1.0 litre from the citigo as well (it's available on the latest polo in 60 and 75ps)

To be revealed later in the year at a Motorshow, should be for sale next year.

I think the engines will be the same as the Polo so there might not even be a 1.6 TDI, they'll probably just stick with the 1.4 TDI that they're now using.

Because the car will be lighter and with the need to cut emissions, they'll use as small an engine as possible.

Is there any word on whether there's going to be an estate?

There is no Skoda Official announcement,  just the stuff you get from Auto Express and the likes,

which is never much cope IMO.

They just keep updating the same articles but nothing of substance.

Printing images that were first on Websites in India.

Now Australian Website have been guessing at the VW Polo GTI in 2015,

& European Websites are repeating those guesses and saying they came from Australia.

At present the 'Skoda Fabia MK2 Replacement' is a 'Skoda Maybia'.

And a 3 pot 1ltr MPI petrol 0/60 16 sec as well. Same as in the new facelift polo

Here are the polo engines

The line-up consists of a pair of three-cylinder petrol MPI units of 59bhp or 74bhp, two 1.2 TSI four-cylinder petrol choices of 89bhp or 108bhp, a 1.4 TSI with 148bhp and a pair of three-cylinder 1.4 TDI units with 74bhp and 89bhp. These replace the 1.2 and 1.6 TDI

I was reading the Euro 6 legislation and it stated the following:-

•the Euro 6 standard will come into force on 1 September 2014 for the approval of vehicles, and from 1 January 2015 for the registration and sale of new types of cars

According to the VW website the only engine that is still Euro 5 complaint in the new Polo is ACT 1.4 TSI 150PS.

Does this means that the 1.4 TSI engine will have to be updated before 1 January 2015 or its only applicable for new cars from that date?

Seems strange they haven't made it Euro 6 complaint.

New Type Approved vehicles after September 2015 have to be Euro 6 emissions as i understand it.

VW/Audi/Skoda/SEAT have engines already Euro 6 Emissions.

The new 1.8 TSI/TFSI 180 ps is the same power as a 1.4 TSI Twincharger,

but lower Emissions & euro 6 i believe,

& the Fabia mk2 Replacement must be getting Type Approved shortly if it is to be revealed this year.
