I have seen a tut on the technical guides page and looks really good and a great idea. Only thing i want to know is can you still use CD's when this is done?

If you add a connects 2 type device, they interface via the cd changer port.
 

So yes, you can use CD's in the head unit, but no, you can no longer use a cd changer also.

That is a shame.

I don't yet know what my final decision will be about the whole 'USB/aux' scenario.

I still want the use of 7 CD's (have a 6 cd changer) but also ideally want a USB and Aux connection, both being hidden out of sight either in the glove box or underneath the passenger seat.

Must be a way...

If you spend a bit more and go for the XCarLink adaptor you can keep cd changer functionality.

How hard is it to run the xcarlink into the back of the glovebox? I think I'll have it done professionally when I have my sub and amp rewired back in. Just trying to get an idea as to how much of a job it is.

With the original Connects2 box  - you lose the CDC.

However, with this one you don't.

I dont have the cd changer. If you can still use the CD in the head unit and the AUX it would be perfect. All the toys these vag cars of this era have and none have AUX inputs standard, its a real shame! Im also gunna do this when ive put my sub and door speakers in. Guy who had the car before me put some FLi door speakers in and they are awful. Deffinatly not the type of sound i like!
