I'm joining the party a bit late on this one but thought it worth a mention.  One of my friends has the three cylinder Polo on a 2008 plate and it's been no end of hassle.  He might have a Friday special but I didn't think that VW made those.  Anyway, the engine's not been right for a while, the electrics have played up, suspension has needed to be replaced and in the last year he's spent well over £1500 on issues.  It belonged to his Mrs from new and was fine 'till the warranty ran out.  I guess he's been unlucky with that particular car.

    The Fabia suffers from the leaky rear door problem.....easy fix though. I don't think the Polo is immune from leaking either from what I've read.

    How so?   You could just as easily say the vRS Fabia is a bit Chav spec!
