Drover door Elec Front wijndow motor controller replacement

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I'm now 100% confident that I need a replacement drivers side motor /controller unit as my electric windows are not working.  I started another thread a few days ago that helped to confirm that it's the motor controller unit that's the problem.

Does anyone know of anybody who has had one of these controller units repaired?  Maybe  it's just a dry joint somewhere?

I've had to luck looking on e bay for a replacement motor either, but thankfully I have a mate who drives a van for a local auto parts supplier. I'll ask him to get me a price for a new one.

I'm not sure if the 6Y2959802 should have the suffix SK1 at the end or not?  Apparently it has something to do with the controller software, not sure if that would be can bus related, that stuff is over my head LOL!! but I think there is a difference between SK1 and SK2.  The motor I have also has SK240DDRS written on the label, but I'm not sure if that means it's SK2.  Probably not!!

Oh, one last question!!!  When I remove the motor controller unit, do I need to find a way to hold the window in place to stop it dropping down while I swap the motor out, and do I need to worry about the window mech unravelling it's self when I remove the motor?  I assume It will uncoil a wee bit, but it won't matter as the motor will turn and take up the play once the window motor starts operating?

Thanks again!!

Cheers!!
