Removing dent on tailgate - trim removal.

Featured Replies

I seem to have mysteriously acquired a shallow dent on the tailgate, on the section between the Skoda and Octavia badges. It's probably about the size of a £2 coin and only a couple of millimetres deep but noticable enough if you look for it.

Before I start looking for a dent removal firm, has anyone had cause to take the interior trim off yet, and do you know how easily it is to get to the back of that panel? I'm considering seeing how easy it is to push back out.

Take the screw out that holds the rubber closing strap in place then the whole panel is just clipped around the edge.  A good dent man might be able to do it by removing one of the number plate lights..... I remember there's a lot of metal work in that area when I lost one of the clips from my number plate light......

Thanks. I'll have a look when I get half an hour free.

Just to note if you have the power boot the cables to the close button are very very short so be careful.

Nope, that's one of the few options I didn't bother with. :D
