Multifunction display issue

Featured Replies

I have selected current driving speed as the only option to display on the MFD yet dashboard is showing fuel driving range - does anyone know how to get speed to display?

Thanks.

Do you mean speed on the maxidot (between rev counter and speedo) or on the infotainment screen (radio / sat nav)?

Sorry, I meant the maxidot display options.

I have the Maxidot with Columus Nav.

In the columbus nav vehicle settings I can select which options are available in the "Driving Data" section of the Maxidot. (Speed, Fuel Economy, Distance, Range, Consumers data, etc)

To change the display in the Maxidot, I have the multi-function steering wheel & you can use the buttons on the right to select "Driving Data" in the Maxidot and then the scrolling wheel to cycle through the availablle information (speed, Fuel economy, Distance, etc)

I can choose which Maxidot option to display and have selected speed only but the display is showing fuel range!

No need to deselect options. Look at page 26 - 29 in the owners manual for pictures. On RHS of steering wheel is a button with an arrow and 2 rectangles press this first. Then use the wheel rotating up or down to toggle through menus on maxidot. When driving details is highlighted (green border on colour screen) depress the roller. Then use the roller to toggle through the options - when speed is highlighted depress the roller again. Speed should now show - you can change units in infotainment menu so this shows in mph or kmh depending on which country you are in.

Is the fuel range less than 50 miles? I think that when the fuel is low it defaults to this option.

On the Citigo, when you get low on fuel the PID (SatNav) asks if you want directions to the nearest petrol station!

I can choose which Maxidot option to display and have selected speed only but the display is showing fuel range!

Do you have a steering wheel with multi-function buttons (for the stereo & menu interfaces)?

You can scroll through the available driving data using the right hand scroll wheel.

It doesn't do that on mine. Being a TSI VRS I get the warning quite often and it only suggests that it finds a nearby petrol station for me, but nothing on the Maxi-dot. :)

I don't have Sat Nav on the Skoda, so this does not happen for me, but low fuel or range message does appear (7 litres remaining?) - rarely run it near empty so have not seen the message for some time. I thought that the range to empty option was for some European countries where it used to be a legal requirement to carry spare fuel - this range to empty option was decided to be safer than carrying a jerry can in the boot and therefore I thought that this is why this may appear even if deselected in the options menu.

I do, however, see the Nav prompt every weekend in the wife's Seat when the fuel fairy (me) has to take it all of 500 yards to fill it up!
